WHAT IS DHA (active tanning ingredient)

DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is the active ingredient used in sunless tanning products. It is a sugar molecule and reacts to the amino acids on the surface of the skin. The level of DHA controls how dark and natural the colour looks. Too much DHA can lead to a rusty, irregular look. Too little DHA results in an ineffective tan that fades to quickly. XEN-TAN uses a high level of DHA but is carefully formulated for a dark, natural tan – balanced with moisturizing oils to guarantee a smooth, streak free application and tan

XEN-TAN is formulated to generate a natural looking tan, both the instant colour and the developed sunless tan. Many other self-tan products result in an artificial “copper” colour that looks unrealistic on most skin types. The instant colour and the active tanning ingredients in XEN-TAN are carefully crafted to yield a beautiful natural colour – even on the fairest skins

Fair Skin

 Its not fair that most self-tan products in the past looked the best on people who already have a tan. XEN-TAN sunless tanning products are formulated to flatter people with even the fairest skins. Technology had improved greatly in the self tan market and we can now produce a very realistic colour that makes fair skin look naturally darker. The dark-tanning formulas are actually better for fair skin than lighter tanning products. For those shy of dark “instant” colour but recognize the benefits – try the Dark Mousse which results in the same beautiful dark tan but has a light/sheer instant colour. XEN-TAN is great for fair skinned individuals – you can now enjoy a beautiful tan without the damage of the sun or tanning beds.

Are you still sleeping in your sunless tanner?

Technology has changed rapidly in the world of sunless tanning. What used to take 8 hours now takes just 3! Because of the time involved in sunless tanning you needed to over night to get the full effect. This is no longer necessary. XEN-TAN sunless tanning products not only develop in 3 hours, the "instant" colour allows you to look tan immediately so you can look better on your way out of the house. Many of our customers use the Dark Mist as a quick fix before going to the gym to make muscles look more defined and skin more toned and tan. Just wait three hours before showering an you have a long-wearing dark self tan. You can still sleep in you self tan lotion, mousse or spray if it is easier for you but because of XEN-TAN's great scent and lighter texture tanning during the day is now an option.

Does XEN-TAN smell? If so, what of?

Quite simply XEN-TAN smells delicious. As well as the gorgeous olive tones the scent is what makes XEN-TAN so amazing. All our products contain beautiful scents, ranging from vanilla to fruity. No more tell-tale chemical smell.

What stops it from streaking?

XEN-TAN is packed with luxurious moisturisers which prevent streaking. DHA is the active ingredient in sunless tanning products which reacts to the amino acid of the skin to give you your tan, and it can be drying. Our unique formula is what makes XEN-TAN so special. It prevents drying of the skin, leaving you silky smooth

Can I use it on my face?

Because the skin on your face is thinner and naturally exfoliates faster than the skin on your body we advise you use XEN-TAN Face Tanner and Face Tanner LUXE. With a weightless feel, both our face tanners are ideal for everyday use with or without make up.

What are the ingredients?

Which is the best product for me?

All XEN-TAN products produce a beautiful long-lasting tan. Choosing the "right" XEN-TAN product for you is about your personal preference for 1: instant colour 2: "feel" of the product (primarily moisturising) and 3: application. We've made it easy for you to choose which XEN-TAN product is exactly right for you. Our simple shopping guide provides you with the products we recommend for light, medium, dark tanning and for daily use.

Does XEN-TAN protect you from the sun?

XEN-TAN contains no SPF - always use a high factor SPF, oil free sun cream when out in the sun. Why oil free? We recommend oil free as the oils in SPF sun cream can break the DHA so your sunless tan won't last as long.

What is the difference between the Deep Bronze product and the Dark Lotion?

Both offer XEN-TAN products offer an Instant Colour. If you favour a deep 'Dark Olive' Instant Colour, then we would recommend the Dark Lotion, if you prefer a slightly lighter 'milk chocolate' instant colour (enough to see where the tan is going), leaving a light olive glow, that develops throughout the day or night then Deep Bronze or our Deep Bronze LUXE would be perfect for you.

What sun cream can I use with it?

We all know the long term damage the sun can do to our skin. If you do go in the sun we advise a sun cream that has a high SPF and is oil free.

Can I use a moisturiser with it?

We advise after applying XEN-TAN to moisturise everyday with an oil free moisturiser. On the third day after applying, gently exfoliate with XEN-TAN body scrub. To achieve the very best and prolong your tan use Transform or Transform LUXE to keep it topped up and looking gorgeous.

I have sensitive skin; can I still use XEN-TAN?

 If you have never used XEN-TAN always do a patch test first.

Does XEN-TAN come off on clothes or sheets?

XEN-TAN has a lighter, easy to apply texture therefore it is not as "muddy" as many self tanning products. We do suggest you wear darker clothing after applying.

How long do I have to leave XEN-TAN on before showering it off?

The tan will begin to develop in 3-4 hours. However for optimum results, we would suggest you leave it on for a minimum of 7-8 hours before showering it off.

I'm very pale, so I need a tan, but always end up looking ridiculous in all the other fake tans I have tried, any suggestions?

How long will my order take?

Standard delivery is between 2-4 working days. We try our hardest to get your order to you within 2 working days. We ask that you please also make reasonable allowance for orders placed over weekends and during public holidays. If you would like your items to arrive quicker we have a next day delivery option.

Where is my order?

If you have not received your order within 5 working days, we recommend that you check with your local Post Office sorting office before contacting customer service, as unfortunately calling cards are not always left. To locate your local Post Office delivery office please go to: www.sapo.co.za or call them directly If the Post Office cannot locate your order please e-mail our customer care team at customercare@xen-tan.co.za , stating your full name, order date and if possible your order reference number or call the customer care team

What if there is an incorrect or missing item on my order?

If there is an item missing from your order, please contact us via customercare@xen-tan.co.za or alternatively call our customer care team on 021 981 6573, If you have received an incorrect item then please return it to us and we will send out the correct item out immediately. Please return the item with a copy of your order confirmation, covering letter and receipt of postage to: Xen-Tan South Africa 16 Silver Street Brackenfell Industria 7561 We strongly advise that all returns are sent via a method of recorded delivery in order to ensure safe receipt. We cannot be held responsible for any undelivered items.

I want to return an item

You have the right to cancel your order at any time up to 14 days after the delivery date, if it is new, unused, unopened and in a re-saleable condition. If the products have already been posted to you, you must return the products to us at the time of cancellation and we will credit your credit or debit card with the price of the products within 30 days beginning with the day on which notice of cancellation was given. You should return products with a cover note which includes your full name, e-mail address, and an order reference number (without this we will not be able to process the refund) to: Xen-Tan South Africa 16 Silver Street Brackenfell Industria 7561 Please note we endeavour to replace any faulty items without delay.
